DM BIM Tools is a Revit add-in created by Dhivakar M. This page explains what information DM BIM Tools uses, why, and how long it is kept. In short: the free tools run on your PC and send nothing; DM BIM Tools AI only receives the files you choose to send, and they are deleted within hours.

What the add-in sends
When Revit starts, DM BIM Tools sends a random installation ID and the DM BIM Tools and Revit version numbers, so we know which versions are in use and can tell you about updates. It does not send your computer name, Windows user name, project files, model contents or any other information from your PC.
CAD to Native, Image to Family (without AI) and Family Downgrade run entirely inside Revit on your PC. Their files never leave your computer.
Your DM BIM Tools account
To use DM BIM Tools AI you create an account. We keep the details you enter: name, email, company, designation, country, phone (optional) and a protected (hashed) password, plus which licence the account belongs to and the PCs it is signed in on (by installation ID).
Files you send to DM BIM Tools AI
When you press Read with AI, the files you added (for example a PDF datasheet, drawing or picture) and your notes are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the DM BIM Tools server and to the AI service that reads them. They are deleted from the DM BIM Tools server within a few hours of the read. The AI service processes them under its business terms, which do not allow it to use them to train its models; it may keep them for a short time for safety and abuse monitoring as its terms describe.
The AI also looks up the manufacturer's public product data online, using only the make and model name, never your project data.
Usage records
For each AI read we record the time, the licence, the size of the request and its cost, so your company's usage meter and our billing are correct. These records contain no file contents.
Messages
Messages you send from the Contact window or by email are kept so we can answer you and improve DM BIM Tools.
Who processes the information
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – hosts the DM BIM Tools server.
- The AI service provider – reads the files you send for DM BIM Tools AI.
- Google (Gmail) – sends account emails such as password reset codes.
- Cloudflare – domain name service and the support email address.
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Files sent for an AI read: deleted within hours.
- Account details: while your account is active, then deleted on request.
- Usage records and messages: as long as needed for billing, support and legal duties.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. The server is protected by a firewall and only the owner can open the admin page.
This website
dmbimtools.com uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. The font is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your account information at any time by writing to support@dmbimtools.com. The free tools can be used without any account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
